Bombs Of Hades - Atomic Temples CD
Atomic Temples is a violent love letter to everything raw, rotten and uncompromising about old-school death metal. When Bombs Of Hades were formed in 2002, it wasn’t about trends or polish, it was about channeling the spirit of their heroes and creating something that felt dangerous, authentic and completely unhinged.
Born from a drunken rehearsal room pact between Ekman (bass) and Stählhammer (guitar/vocals), Bombs Of Hades set out to build a monument to the underground. The result is an album steeped in the filth of Discharge, Anti Cimex, Dissorder, fused with the death metal savagery of Autopsy, Nihilist / Entombed, Carnage and the relentless aggression of Slayer.
Musically, Atomic Temples thrives on its rawness. Buzzsaw guitars tear through crust-driven rhythms, while punk-infused d-beat sections collide with crushing death metal riffs. The production is intentionally dirty and abrasive, reinforcing the album’s suffocating atmosphere, this is death metal that crawls out of the grave, not something polished for mass consumption.
The songs move with a feral urgency, constantly shifting between pounding mid-tempo heaviness and frantic bursts of speed. Vocals are venomous and snarling, drenched in decay, perfectly matching the album’s apocalyptic aura. There’s a constant sense of chaos and menace, yet everything feels purposeful, a carefully crafted attack disguised as underground mayhem.
Atomic Temples delivers exactly what the death metal heart craves: rot, crust, aggression and atmosphere. It’s an album that doesn’t ask for permission and doesn’t offer mercy, a true underground classic for fans who worship the old ways.
